Question

Effective license for user in concurrent (not named) schema

asked on September 26, 2014

User Mike is member of Domain group "ReadUsers". This group is Trusted and assigned Read license under Windows accounts in LF admin console. Every user from that group after login is Inherited and has Read license assigned. I need to assign Mike full license without removing him from domain group.

If I change Mike account from Inherited to Trusted and assign him Full license, may I expect that Mike will always have Full license? Will this assignment conflict with anything? Any difference if Named Users (Avante) licensing is used?

Thank You much.

If the Read only checkbox is checked on the group, and he is a member of it, he is going to be a read only user regardless of what type of inherit vs trusted. The only exception is if you give him manage trustee permission(the ability to edit user accounts) and that overrides it. This works the same on both United(concurrent) and Avante(named) models.

It would not be any difference in Avante unless you changed your read only permissions to the folders instead of the user account since all users would now be named users.
