Redaction Error - Laserfiche Client 9.1.1.546 - Image location cannot be found

asked on August 19, 2014

Error message I receive each time I try to redact information. It was a TIF image. The error also appears when using the highlight and underline features under annotations. The text box, stamp and sticky note features are working fine. After clicking the ‘OK’ the redaction appears and is saved if you close and reopen the document.

Error - "Image Locations Could not be found for selected portions of the image. No Text Annotation was created."  " OK" to continue

It seems like you have the option to link image annotations to text annotations enabled, but there's an issue with the OCRed text of that particular document or page.

Try OCRing the document again and then reopen it and see if you can add a redaction or highlight to it without that message coming up.

Alternatively, if you don't have text at all for that document, you can just uncheck the 'link annotations' option and that will make the error go away as well. Note that this is generally HIGHLY not recommended - especially for redactions - as that could cause security issues on operations involving the text itself (like search or export as PDF). But it can at least confirm that's the issue here.
