Question

How do we give rights to a new employee to print to the Lf Snapshot printer and save documents to LaserFiche?

asked on July 2, 2014

A new user is not able to print to LaserFiche and we are not sure what to change to get this to work.

Hi Jennifer,

Can they log into the Laserfiche Client? If they can't then they may need a user creating and setting up within the system (this will need to be done by your internal IT or by your Laserfiche VAR).

If they can log into Laserfiche but cannot get snapshot to work I would suggest ensuring they have setup the current user wizard located in the start menu.

Failing that I would contact your VAR and ask them for assistance. I'm sure they are happy to help laugh

Good luck!

Is this located in the Administrator Console? The list you show above is not a list that I can find.  I have set him up with the same rights and groups that I have.  I am able to print but he is not.  He gets an error message that says he does not have import ability.

Is there someone there who can walk us through this on Monday?  Also, what does VAR stand for?  thanks

Hi Jennifer,

Are you getting the error "This user does not have the Import feature right"? If so, then it is likely that the new user does not have the correct security rights. Ensure that the user has the assigned feature right "Import" checked.

This setting can be found in the Administration Console under [Laserfiche Server]/Repositories/[Repository Name]/Users and Groups/Users (for Laserfiche login accounts) or Windows Account (for Active Directory accounts). Locate the new user's account, right click to open Properties and select the Rights tab and check Import:

I hope that solves your issue! If not, let us know the exact error message and we can work from there.

The company who you bought your Laserfiche system from is your VAR.
