Question

Question

Hidden fields are not always hidden.

asked on June 16, 2014

I have a form with a number of hidden fields.  The form opens to a single field and based it having the correct data this will open another field and so on.  When I open the form on the LFForms server everything works as expected.  However if I go to another server and open the form all the fields show immediately.  Did I miss a step?

I've provided screen shots attached.

Thanks for your help!

Sandy

If you're submitting a form, the browser you are using needs to have JavaScript enabled. I'd guess that the browser you're using on the Forms server has JavaScript enabled while the one on the Workflow server has it disabled. If that's not the case, maybe there's another issue at work here.

What browser are you using to access the form on the Workflow server? Can you provide a screenshot of the field rules you have configured?

Thanks for your help!  The browser in all instances is IE 11.  Attached are the rules.  The first field must have one of four specific values.  When one of them is typed in another field is revealed where one of three specific values has to be entered then the entire form is revealed.  I'm using this as almost a login situation.

Can you confirm that JavaScript is enabled in the browser on the Workflow server?

JavaScript needs to be enabled on the workflow server or the forms server?  It doesn't appear to be on either server but I just want to ensure I'm changing the correct server.  Thanks Sandy

I followed your instructions and Scripting is not enabled on the Forms server - however the form works correctly there.  I am working on getting IE on a PC where the end-user will be submitting the form so once I get that I'll check for scripting on that PC and see if that does the trick.  I should be able to do this tomorrow.  Thanks for your help.  I'll let you know if it works or not.
