I have quick Fields on a workstation that I am going to replace. How do I activate the new and decommission the old?
Uninstalling Quick Fields deactivates it for you. You can also click License Deactivation from the Start menu (Start\Laserfiche\Quick Fields).
So, uninstall Quick Fields on the workstation you are replacing. Re-install and activate it on the new workstation.
BUT...what about my case. Where the original Quickfields PC ups and dies before you get a chance to deactivate the license. How do i clear the license such that i can install on a new pc and register it?

If you have the fingerprint and host id information of the computer it was previously activated on, then you can follow the example in KB 1012301. If you don't have that information, please contact your VAR as they can work with Laserfiche Support to get that information.
my VAR, VPCI helped me out. i was able to obtain the lf.licx. from which he was able to extract enough data to deactivate the license...thanks Bryce J.
