Automatic Access Rights Permissions to Entry Owners

In configuring new security groups/roles, I'm finding an issue where users get automatic permission to both read and edit access rights to any entries that the user has created. Is there any way to stop this from happening?

I have 'manage entry access' turned off for the user group and for the user.

The behavior your describe (automatic access rights) is essentially the point of having an entry owner. It sounds like you may want to change the default entry owner to avoid giving users ownership of documents they create by default. The help files describe how to either set the default entry owner to a specific user, or to not assign an owner by default.

If your entry ownership needs are more complicated than is possible with a repository-wide setting, you may wish to use the Set Entry Owner activity in Workflow.
