Question

Laserfiche and .Net requirements

asked on May 13, 2014

Will the current version of Laserfiche Server and Client install and run fine on a station running only .Net 4.0 or higher?

If the Laserfiche install prerequisites look specifically for .Net 3.5, can 3.5 be uninstalled after the Laserfiche install leaving .Net 4.0 or higher without causing issues for Laserfiche software?

We have a client that is looking to move their Laserfiche server to a very restricted network environment where this is a concern.

This install would be limited to the Laserfiche Server and Client with Admin Console only, no Snapshot, Photodocs, Scanning etc.

We (Laserfiche) haven't tested it, but everything is likely to work if .NET 4.0+ is installed. Laserfiche software doesn't have any directives that require older versions of .NET and newer versions of .NET are able to load and execute assemblies that were targeted towards older versions. You will want to do your own testing to verify that everything will work.
