We recented updated our License Manager and need to generate a new ScanConnect license. We are getting the following error: The specified file is not a supported Laserfiche license file. Last time time this happened, we tried using a previously generated license file and that worked. This time it didn't. Any ideas??

How large is the lf.licx file? Is it larger than 64 kb or 128 kb? The size of the license file may be the cause of the issue in this case.
Hi Alex!
Moon reached out to me and yes, it was the file size. Thanks for your help - he called me right after you mentioned it to him

Hi Toyia,
It's hard to tell from the screenshot, but it doesn't look like the correct license is being used to install ScanConnect 8.3. Please go into the Rio License Manager Administration Console and generate a license for ScanConnect 8.3. You should get an lf.licx file. Now use that file to install ScanConnect.

The user confirms that the license is lf.licx (just cut off on the screenshot). I also used a license file that I "know" works (per a tip from LSG) - that didn't work this time.
Thanks much!
I'm wondering if the fingerprint in the ScanConnect license file you're using isn't matching up with the fingerprint of the workstation you're trying to install on.
You can try running the showhwfp application from this KB on the computer you are trying to install ScanConnect on to get the reported fingerprint. Then compare that to the fingerprint that's listed in the lf.licx file you're trying to use. You can view the contents of the license file in an xml reader.
If the fingerprints are in fact different, then that would explain the error you're getting. In that case, you'll need to generate a new ScanConnect 8.3 license from the License Manager using the correct fingerprint. Alternatively, in the ScanConnect installation wizard, you can try using the third option to "Activate using the Rio License Manager."

Ok, I'm a bit of a nerd and excited:-) I found a cool product to use to read the license file in XML and found the license file information - VERY COOL According to this, all the information is correct. It just doesn't like the license type for some reason. We've never been able to activate a license through "RIO License Manager." I have a feeling it has to do with our firewall and other security settings. As admin, I have to generate the license and they drop it into the appropriate spot and run through installation.
What else can we try??
