Question

Snapshot 9.1.1 and Field Security

asked on February 25, 2014

It would seem that a Client of ours upgraded to 9.1.1.486 and now when trying to Snapshot a document they're seeing some strange activity.  They're snapshotting just a plain document outside of Laserfiche, when assigning the template they're assigning a template that contains a field with only the "Read" right.  They're not populating it, but when they go to import the document it errors saying Failed to import document due to metadata assigning failure or something, seems they need the Create right to all field on the template in order to Snapshot now..  Works properly when importing a document, creating a document, or scanning a document..  And also, if they hit Ok to the error, and then try to snapshot again without changing anything, it then works..

Was there a fundamental change to the way Snapshot brings documents in that would throw this error now?

This has been fixed in Laserfiche 9.2 and also in Laserfiche 9.1.1 SP2

This appears to be a bug in Snapshot and a report has been filed. I'll update the thread as we have more information regarding the bug.

do you have an ETA on when SCR 112107 will be fixed?  Thanks

I would like to know an ETA as well. I see that this was posted at the beginning of the year and we just upgraded recently and it is still not fixed. It is not a great experience for users when we upgrade and in their view things get more difficult.

We also have seen a change (is it a bug?) in Snapshot 9.1.1.

When printing to Snapshot (e.g., from MS Word), changing the template field value, and saving the profile, our client has found that one of the fields – a List field – does not hold.  In printing another file, the field reverts back to the default value on the list.  Our question: Is this the expected behavior?

We ask because this represents a change from the previous versions.  In those, our client was able to over-ride the default permanently if a profile had been saved.
