LF Snapshot 9.0.2 build 671 and Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Server

 I am trying to install Snapshot on a Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Server

 

When I try to installed either application lfsnapshot-x64_en.msi or lfsnapshot_en.msi, I get dAddPrinter error 5

If I run those applications from RDC Install Application I get dAddPrinter error 6. 

 

 If I install Snapshot from the setup.exe and do custom install and add Shared printer I get the error Cannot be used on Terminal Services.

 

How can I fix this?

Was this a completely fresh installation? We've seen this error on 2k8R2, but only in situations where there was already a partial (maybe previously failed) installation that has caused some Snapshot driver files to still be present, but not in a manner that windows installer could identify. This could very well be version specific because it only comes up at versions where we've updated the Snapshot drivers. They were updated for the 9.0 release, but not the 8.3 release.

There was a preivous install where the Snapshot would populate the error can not be used with Terminal Services.  An uninstall and reboot was made. Installation attempt failed on Setup.exe with no snapshot shared printer selected.

Uninstalled and rebooted, install 9.0.2 with no Snapshot driver at all with setup.exe.  Finally got 8.3.2 lfsnapshot-64.msi to install with no errors. 

Tested and verified that standard print settings work with 9.0.2

 

Still need a fix for Snapshot 9.0.2 on Win2K8R1 SP1 RDC

Trying to uninstall LFSS Drivers

Found several LFSS1328 files for Laserfiche Snapshot Printer

- Removed all files LFSS1328 from C:\Windows\.

- Remove \HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environment\Windows X64\Drivers\Verison-3\LFSnapshot Driver 1328

- Reboot Server

- Logged in with local admin account

- Install LF9.0.2 with setup.exe from RDC Application Install

- Tested LFSS 9.0.2 with Local and Remote User Admin and Standard User

 

LFSS 9.0.2 Is now working on Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Remote Desktop

I have since installed Laserfiche Snapshot v8.3.2 on Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Server under the RDC Application Install and it is working.

Can you completely uninstall the Client suite and then make sure to also completely delete the Snapshot/Black Ice printer drivers that may be left over on the machine? Once the drivers are gone, reboot the computer and then just perform a fresh reinstall of the 9.0.2 Client suite with Snapshot. Please make sure that you are logged in as a user with local administrator rights and make sure that UAC is set to "never notify" prior to doing the installation.
