Question

Can you "automatically" print to snapshot without bringing up the dialog box?

asked on January 27, 2014

I would like to automate a repeating reporting function so that when the devices are queried and the report generated, I can automatically have the program print to snapshot without any user intervention in the dialog box. Can I configure the snapshot settings to print to the same folder/repository/template and the that date for the file name?

You can configure Snapshot so that it doesn't prompt after printing completes. Please run the Snapshot Configuration Utility and choose the "Assign it the configured properties without prompting" option as Mr. Smith has so helpfully highlighted above in his attached screenshot.

If you want to include a date in the folder or document name, you can use the %(Date) token. If you notice, there's a button labeled ">" to the right of the folder and document name fields. If you click that button, you'll be presented with a list of tokens you can have appear in the name. The value of the token will be substituted in by Snapshot when the document is imported into Laserfiche. These tokens work correctly whether or not Snapshot is configured to prompt the user after a print job completes.

I'm not sure which version of Snapshot you are using, but in version 9 there is a radio button option to have it not prompt. I'm not sure if that will satisfy what you are looking for.

To get to it go to All Programs-> Laserfiche-> Snapshot-> Snapshot Configuration.
