Disable Advanced Printing options for all Snapshot users

asked on January 9, 2014

My users routinely run into PDFs that, when printed via Snapshot, end up in Laserfiche as jumbled letters. Actually, each ASCII character is incrememted by 1 throughout the document.

Disabling the Advanced Printing options in the printer properties takes care of the issue.

How can I disable the advanced printing options for all my users easily? Can I set the default when installing snapshot? Is there a registry key I can push?

LF 8.3.2; Windows 7 32-bit

I found the solution by using a registry monitoring tool. This sets the advanced options to disabled: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Printers\Lf Snapshot 8] "Attributes"=dword:00001001 00000001 is enabled

Perfect, I'll give that a try.

Does anyone know what the "advanced printing options" do for Snapshot? Is it safe to leave it disabled?

If it doesn't do much, then could Laserfiche default the installation to disable the advanced options?
