v12 Field Width Reverts back

These are fields with this CSS applied:


They are not in a collection nor table but the desired look is to appear to be in a table or collection. 

I save it:


I refresh the browser tab and it reverts back:


Yes I can lock them in with CSS. But is this more version 12 wonkiness or intended behavior? Can anyone reproduce it?

I thought it was fixed - but there had been a bug where rows of fields with 6 fields in the row kept resetting the field widths each time you reloaded the layout page.

Geez, I didn't think to check the changelog on the latest update. This is happening on version 12.0.2509.20409. So NOT the latest update.

In other news there is a brand new update from Sept 1 2026 with 2 Forms fixes showing.


I didn't see this issue addressed in the prior updates though. Do you see it in there?

I saw your posts on this. Interesting thing happened. I switched to checkboxes and the widths stick now.

I've only seen it happen with 6 fields in the row, so adding that 7th field might have been enough to avoid it.

Maybe I was wrong when I said "...I thought it was fixed..." - I reported it on version 11.0.2311 in March of 2025, but I see a comment on that post by Blake in January of 2026 asking about when it will be fixed, so he was likely seeing it in version 12.  https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/227558/Modern-Designer-Bug--Collections-Force-Field-Width-Resize-With-6-Fields#233507 

So I guess it isn't fixed after all.
