Question

Laserfiche 12 Snapshot Setting

asked on September 14

Hi everyone,

We are self-hosted and recently upgraded to Laserfiche 12. One of the changes we noticed is that the Snapshot window now opens on the Document Properties tab rather than the Template tab, where users enter metadata before printing documents to Laserfiche.

From a usability perspective, this feels like a step backward, as we are actively trying to reduce the number of clicks required by our users. In Laserfiche 11, users could begin entering metadata immediately when the Snapshot window opened.

In our environment, users generally do not need to view the Document Properties tab by default, as the document name and destination folder are already configured in their default Snapshot profiles.

Is there a way to change the default tab or adjust the tab order so that the Template tab is displayed when the Snapshot window first opens?

If this is not currently possible, I would like to submit it as a feature request.

Thank you,

Onur

This was also the first complaint from my users after we upgraded to 12. I completely agree with you that from a user's perspective, it has made it more difficult. You'll also notice that when you split documents in 12, you are no longer able to enter metadata and hit enter for OK. Users have to tab all the way down until OK is selected now. Which means going thru all the fields in a template. My main template has over 20 fields. This has made things take a lot longer than necessary. Unfortunately, I was told that this was a UI interface change and the default couldn't be changed.

Looks like this changed somewhere between:  v12.0.2509.942   and  v12.0.2607.1895
