Question

javaScript to update css on field change

asked on April 23

Hello,

I am working on a Form in Forms 12, where I have a field that has the Entry ID. I'd like to include a custom HTML that has a link to preview the entry before the form is submitted, but being new to JavaScript I am having a little issue with how to get that variable to update when the field is updated with the entry ID, since looking through Laserfiche Answers, I have learned that without the javascript, the variables remain static from when the form was loaded.

Here are the details:

Field label: Laserfiche Entry ID

Field Variable: Entry_ID

Field Variable ID: 954

Field CSS Class: LFEntryID

My custom HTML is:

<p align="center"><a href="https://ServerName1/FinanceWebLink/Browse.aspx?id={/dataset/Entry_ID}&amp;dbid=0&amp;repo=FinanceDivision" target="_blank"><b><span style="font-family: &quot;Arial Black&quot;;">Click Here to Preview Selected File Before Submitting Request</span></b></a></p>

So for example, if someone updates the Laserfiche Entry ID field with 123456, I would like the custom HTML link to update to "https://ServerName1/FinanceWebLink/Browse.aspx?id=123456&amp;dbid=0&amp;repo=FinanceDivision" target="_blank"

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
