Cause: likely Crowdstrike
In the last week (starting on 3/31/26) our popups for LF Snapshot seem to be blocked. After a lot of experimenting it seems that Crowdstrike is the culprit. It is preventing the LFSnapshot pop up to come up. In most cases it will still send the job to the print queue after which the user can then manually restart the job and the popup will come up. For some users it is not coming up even if the job is restarted and the job will remain in the queue until it is cancelled altogether. For one user the printer is not even visible in the list of installed printers even though it shows as installed when repairing or modifying the install to try and get the printer to install.
So far we have not been able to find the exact cause, but when we uninstall Crowdstrike all the issues seem to disappear. So we are assuming Crowdstrike may be to blame.
Anyone else notice anything like this and maybe got to the bottom of it? Crowdstrike is asking for a lot of information and it will take time to gather that. In the meantime a few departments are having to change a lot of processes and their tasks are taking much longer.
We have LF11 client installed, we have tested installing LF12 client on a machine and that did not resolve the issue. (servers are LF11) LFSnapshot is locally installed on each machine, we are not using a shared LFSnapshot printer.
