Laserfiche 12 - Template search returns incorrect column headers per folder results

asked on March 11

Hi,

When I perform a search using the Template form, the return results column headers are not matching up with the Attribute I have set in the 'Everyone' profile. I have deleted the Attribute in the specific user profile but it brings up a random column header for each respective folder. I have already set the 'Remembered for each individual folder'. Any ideas on how to show the correct column headers in the Template search? If I Browse, the respective folders shows the correct column headers though.

Thank you

Hi James, have you tried setting the column display under the Search node? And if possible, could you provide the detailed steps for how you set the attributes and what the columns look like? This would help us better identify the issue. Thank you!

Hi,

I require the Template search results to show the specific list of columns based on the repository. Since each repository has it's own fields, as I use Template to search on that repository, only that repositories column (fields) should be returned.

1. login to desktop client

2. click into a repository folder

3. right click over column header

4. go to More and select the specific columns only for that folder

5. return back to step 2, step 3, step 4 for each of the repository folders. Hit Ok when done.

6. go to Laserfiche Admin Console and select user i used to map the column headers

7. right click on user and go to Attributes and Export all of the [XmlColumnDisplay] to a file

8. go to Everyone profile in Users and Groups and Import the file into Attributes tab

9. make sure all users have their Attributes > [XmlColumnDisplay]  line items removed.

Hi James,
Thanks for your explanation. To check if this is a configuration issue, could you please try the following steps?

  1. In Everyone's and test user's attributes, add [XmlColumnDisplay]HasMigrated and set its value to true.
  2. Remove the [Settings]ColumnDisplaySearch attribute from both Everyone and the test user (if it exist). Before removing it, you may export the setting as a backup so they can be restored after testing is complete.
  3. Log in again with the test user and verify whether the search columns now follow the [XmlColumnDisplay]Data in Everyone's attributes.

Please note that after a user logs out, the Desktop Client automatically generates a new [XmlColumnDisplay]Data and saves it in the user's own attributes. As a result, on subsequent logins, the Desktop Client will read the [XmlColumnDisplay]Data from the user's attributes rather than from Everyone.
  4. If the above steps don't work, please remember to restore your attributes.

If this doesn't resolve your issue, we recommend opening a support case so that we can gather more information and proceed with further troubleshooting.
