You are likely seeing this error because Laserfiche removed lower TLS protocols (1.0 and 1.1) from the activation server in May of 2025. You will need to use an updated activate tool from a newer version of the software to re/de/activate older software. KB 1014471 also provides a copy of the newer activation tool.
Cool I will use this post as a reference so maybe I can find the solution next time it comes up because I certainly am not storing all this in my head.
Thanks for posting this, I've seen the same thing, where one by one, machines I used to use for activation stop working. This is the first clear explanation I have seen.
