I'm curious why Laserfiche Connector is not included in the new installer? Will that change when Connector is updated to version 12 next year or will it remain separate? I made sure I'm using the latest release of the installer (downloaded today) and it isn't in the list of items that can be installed.

Connector Excluded from Installation Utility

Hi Matthew,
The Laserfiche 12 unified installer only contains packages for components that are actually upgraded to version 12. Connector is still on version 11, so you will still need to download its separate installer .ISO for the time being. Once it is upgraded to version 12, I'm sure it will be included in the unified installer for LF 12.
That's what I was initially thinking - but since the installer does include some version 11 items (like Office Integration and Scanning) I figured it was worth asking why Connector wasn't included.
I'd consider those pieces you mentioned as "minor" components, so although they specifically haven't been brought up to v12 yet, they are still dependencies for the "major" components like the Desktop Client, etc.
Can't wait for Connector 12 to come out soon!
Hi Matthew,
Jesse already got the answer, but to add some more context -
The new unified installer, as a general rule, just includes the modules that have been updated to v12. In the fall release, that will be updated to add Import Agent and Email Archive as well, along with (the now v12-ified) Scanning module. We generally have not been included pre-v12 items, in part because we'd have to modify them slightly in order for them to be present in the first place.
What about Scanning and Office? Well, that was a specific decision to not make people pull one application from multiple packages. Scanning and Office are considered core sub-components of the Repository Desktop Client, so it felt pretty unfortunate to have the Client itself updated to 12 and included, but not those. As such, we did some additional work to include them as well, so organizations would have all of the Client components together in one place when installing, even though those specific modules were not yet v12.
Awesome! Thank you @████████and @████████!
