I was reviewing the Administration Hub 12 today and noticed that I have 89 machines that are in unknown status. Is there a way to restrict Administration Hub to only show machines running the agent?
Question
Question
Administration Hub 12 showing machines that aren't running the agent
Answer
That is correct. The Admin hub gets info 2 ways. It connects to Directory Server and gets a list of licensed applications. And the agents report back from their individual machines.
In order to read the registered machines from Directory Server, it needs the appropriate rights (which being a member of Laserfiche Directory Server Administrars would give you).
The heavy lifting is done by the agents. If a machine is licensed from the Directory Server but has no agent on it, the Admin Hub would only have its name, but not much else. For applications that don't require a license, like Workflow, the Admin Hub needs an agent installed to know they exist.

I did some research on this to see if it was related to this Answers Post and it appears if the account that is specified in the Administration Hub configuration to connect to the Directory Server is a member of the Laserfiche Directory Service Administrators local group on the Directory Server it pulls all the machines. If I remove the account from the local group, the unknown entries are not in the Administration Hub.
