Laserfiche Web Client 12 Configuration opens the repository in Version 12

asked on May 27 Show version history

The Web Client 12 Configuration option from the start menu is just showing repository folders now

The shortcut now leads to this page instead of the old page

http://localhost/laserfiche/shortcut/shortcut.aspx?page=configuration

And this page just forwards you to /laserfiche/Browse.aspx which looks like this when opening it. Same as choosing just Repository Web Client 12 from the start menu.

From here I can go to Administration but not Configuration.

So instead I tried using the old URL from previous versions and it worked when manually typing this into the browser

laserfiche/configuration/configuration.aspx

I am seeing the same thing in the 2025 Spring Release.

Did you upgrade or install fresh?

It was a fresh install

It could be a difference between upgrading and a fresh install since Chad and mine were upgrades.

If you go to this link it works in a fresh install? Just want to make sure we are both using the same start menu shortcut.

http://localhost/laserfiche/shortcut/shortcut.aspx?page=configuration

What I'm thinking Chad is that during the upgrade the link URL was changed to what you posted and in a fresh install it is setting the URL correctly.

I wonder where shortcut.aspx?page=configuration came from? Someone wrote this.

I'm not able to reproduce it with the Spring release of the web client. And yes, the path looks the same as in Chad's post above.

If you can reproduce it, please open a browser and record a HAR file. Make sure the browser's dev tools are open and set to preserve logs so we can get the full sequence of calls. Then paste the URL into the browser and follow the login prompt until you are directed to the final page. When that's complete, save the calls from the network tab of the browser's dev tools as a HAR file and send it to Tech Support.

I don't think you need the HAR file. When I look at the Start Menu item and open its folder location, it takes me to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Laserfiche\Web Client. If I look at the Laserfiche Repository Web Client 12 Configuration shortcut and look at its properties, its target is set to "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Web Access\Configuration.url". If I look at the Configuration.url properties in that location, it is set to the URL that Chad shared.

Interesting, I will try to create a HAR file.

I'm not sure what changed, but it's working today.
