Question

Viewing unreferenced files - Laserfiche Forms

asked on March 5

Hi Laserfiche Team,

I am writing to ask if there is any way to view the unreferenced files (files uploaded but not submitted). We recently encountered an issue where the "PRIMARY" database became full, preventing photo uploads and causing errors.

We are hoping to retrieve the photos. For your reference, we do not store the files in any repository; instead, we extract the photos from the cf_bp_attachment_data table.

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and support.

Regards,

Rem

Hi Rem, I remember we talked about the tool for viewing and cleanning up unreferenced files in a prevous post https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1014322/laserfiche-forms-public-portal-file-cleanup-tool

Does it work for you?

Hi Rui,

I tried using the tool you suggested and was able to see the FileName and File Size. However, what I'm after is the ability to see what files (i.e, photos) failed to upload and what form does it relate to. Also, if there's a way for me to re-upload the file and link it back to the form submission.

I also tried the "Remove files" button but it wasn't working. The tool crashes and it doesn't remove the files. I even tried it multiple times.

Do you know if there are other ways for me to achieve this?

Cheers

Rem

For cleaning unreferenced files, it could also be done by the built in data maintenance feature: https://doc.laserfiche.com/laserfiche.documentation/12/userguide/en-us/content/admin-forms-data-maintenance.htm

However, as you said "if there's a way for me to re-upload the file and link it back to the form submission": the unreferenced files are files that are never submitted, which are usually generated when user opens a form, uploads a file, and leave the form unsubmitted before closing the browser.

If you want to modify uploaded files on an existing instance, you could use the update variable value function on instance detail page: https://doc.laserfiche.com/laserfiche.documentation/12/userguide/en-us/content/report-monitor-process-instances.htm#EditingInstanceVariableValues
