Question

Is Laserfiche 11 compatible with Windows server 2025 and SQL server 2025?

asked on November 20, 2024

Hello,

I am working with a client that would like to upgrade to Laserfiche 11. However, they are wanting to use a server with both Windows Server 2025 and SQL Server 2025- I do not see these listed in the Laserfiche system requirements, so was wondering if this can be done, or if they are incompatible. Thanks!

We are currently testing Windows Server 2025. Early results indicate there are no compatibility issues. We will update the compatibility list when testing is complete.

SQL Server 2025 has not yet been released nor does it have a public preview available. We will test it as it becomes available.

How about testing for SQL Server 2025 at this point given GA was November 2025

Yes, Laserfiche 11 and 12 are compatible with SQL Server 2025. If you are upgrading SQL in place, unregister and re-register the repository so it uses the latest available ODBC driver for SQL Server.

Hi Miruna - we've just seen your reply here saying SQL Server 2025 is supported which is great, but does that mean the official product specifications page just hasn't been updated yet? (still not showing SQL Server 2025).

On the Supported Configurations page, they have a section for Database Engines where they do not specifically specify any server except SQL Server 2014 SP3. Below is the wording that is currently used. So, they do technically include SQL Server 2025 without actually spelling it out.

Duncan, the KB article Blake linked above is the source of truth for supported configurations. Any other documentation pages that may be out of date are superseded by this KB article.

If you were looking somewhere other than https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1012418/supported-os-list-laserfiche-10-laserfiche-11-laserfiche-12 , please link the page to this thread and we'll review it.

Thanks both! We will bookmark that page as the source of truth now.

I was looking here: https://doc.laserfiche.com/laserfiche.documentation/12/userguide/en-us/content/install-specifications.htm

Thanks,

Duncan
