Question

Cloud mail merge with QR code

asked on October 4, 2024

I have read here someone says LF mail merge can produce a QR code using words native DISPLAYBARCODE or MERGEBARCODE functions.  I have tried many things but am seeing this error "Bar code generator is not set" indicating that Word's built-in barcode functionality is either missing or not properly configured when run in a workflow in a cloud instance.

Is there any other way to produce a QR code in a document for emailing in LF cloud?

This has been resolved with thanks to the responder here:

It is possible to export a dynamic barcode in .docx format using LF cloud workflow, it works for .docx and returns an error message if attempting to send as .pdf

Actually, if i take the mergecode away and hardcode the url then i can see the barcode in the word .docx on my local machine but it appears it can't be generated through the cloud word implementation?

if i replace the hardcoded value with the merge code «url» then the barcode errors. I've also tried hardcoding the value just to test and the resultant merged email has the "Error! Bar code generator is not set."
