Question

Repository Access with Participant License

asked on January 10, 2024

I am trying to test and confirm that participant licenses do in fact come with read-only access to the repository. I have assigned my non-admin account a participant license and have place that user in a user group that has access to the repository. But I keep getting an error.

"Sign in failed because the number of sessions has reached the licensed limit, or the user account has reached its session limit, or no named user license has been allocated to the user account. [9030]"

I am sure that there is a piece of the pie that I am missing. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I checked the licenses in question here and they are indeed "Forms Authenticated Participants - Rio" licenses (SKU "EAFRM") rather than the newer "Participant User" licenses that combine Forms and Read-Only repository access.

It depends on the type of Participant license. There are older Forms Participant licenses, which do not have repository access, and the more recent Participant User licenses which do, but they are different licenses and have different pricing.

You should be able to see which one you have on the Directory Server Overview page, but if you're still on version 10 I'd guess you have Forms Participant licenses since I believe version 11 is required for the newer Participant User license.
