Forms Licensing Site Configuration - problem saving change

asked on July 27, 2023

We are in the process of migrating and upgrading our Laserfiche server from 10.4 to 11.

Our Directory server has been moved and the licensing site name changed.  When I try to update the information in Forms Configuration --> User Authentication --> Licensing Site, I can change the site name but the SAVE button is greyed out.

I'm accessing the configuration https://localhost/FormsConfig#auth . I'm unable to use our server's hostname as I suspect this User Authentication setting needs to be fixed before it will allow me to sign in to the site using the hostname.

Has anyone encountered this situation before?   Is there a configuration file I need to change somewhere?

Here's an update.  In the end it ended up being a networking issue and a hosts file entry fixed the issue.  Thanks to everyone who tried to help.   I appreciate the Laserfiche community and regret wasting everyone's time.

No worries. I am curious how attempting to make a change through a localhost configuration page was ultimately a networking issue resolved through a hosts file entry though. Was the LFDS server address value on the User Authentication page failing to resolve or something?

This may be a case where we can avoid wasting people's time in the future with a better error message or something.

Did you make sure to change the Directory Server STS URL to the updated URL on the User Authentication page in Forms Config?

Hi Paul,

I've seen this happen before when the Public Draft Lockout settings at the bottom of the User Authentication tab in /FormsConfig somehow end up without values.

Please check those, including enabling the setting (temporarily, if you don't want it enabled in general) to verify/add values to the "Number of attempts allowed before lock" and "Minutes to keep locked" fields like so:

After adding values to those fields, you may be able to Save.

In my case, this issue occurred when I installed/upgraded Forms using the Laserfiche Deployment Toolkit which can modify configurations directly and thus bypass some of these config page validation checks. There might be other ways for the same thing to happen though, so it's worth checking either way.

Can you provide the screenshot of your User Authentication page? Maybe there are fields not filled yet.

Also, what is your Forms' version?
