Laserfiche Mobile Problems after recent LF Mobile App Update on iPhone

posted on July 18, 2023

Last time this happened, LF had to roll back the update to the previous version.  I would like to humbly ask that be done again.

Our Public Works dept is at a standstill as far as tracking work orders for the last few days.

Thanks in advance.

Christine

The updated Laserfiche mobile application for iOS is now available in the app store. Please have users update the application which should resolve the login issue.

@alexander is there a chance that the app for a 7th gen ipad running 16.6os would not get the app update?

one of my users was able to update the laserfiche app on his ipad air, but not on the 7th gen.

I use a 6th gen ipad and the app update last night pushed me to 2023.07.21, my user is reporting on the 7th gen ipad that the lf app is also the same version.

Thanks for reporting the issue, Christine. Upon initial troubleshooting and issue reproduction attempts, it seems that the error only occurs when the iOS app is trying to auto-reconnect the session. Meaning, users should be able to initially log in just fine. However, if they do not sign out of the app, but rather just swipe/close the app or have its session time out, then upon relaunching the application, it will try to auto-reconnect and it throws the reported error message.

We are investigating the matter, but in the meantime, suggest that users sign out before swipe/closing the app. That way when they reopen the app, they can just sign back in normally without encountering the error.

My coworker pushed out the iOS update to city phones about 2 hours ago.  Fixed the issue on my iPhone, waiting to hear from the city in general.

Thank you for the update, Christine! Glad to hear it resolved the issue for you. The support case you opened was helpful in identifying and addressing the bug.

I recommend opening a support case so we can gather more information. This is the only report we've had so far about being completely unable to login, so it may be something specific to your setup that we can further troubleshoot, or it may be a bug we can address.

Edit: as Alex Huang noted below, we have identified the specific scenario where this occurs: self-hosted systems using LFDS for login, on iOS devices, when the app is trying to automatically reconnect to an existing session.

Thanks Brianna,

We are restarting our DMZ server tonight to see if that resolves anything.

I have also contacted our service provider to open up a support case.

Thanks for your response.
