Question

Data Migration from Oracle to SQL Server

asked on March 16, 2023

Hello Laserfiche Community,

Looking for recommendations or options to migrate data from Oracle to SQL Server.

I have a client who is running Laserfiche RIO 9.3 with Oracle database and now looking for migrating data to SQL Server. They have multiple repositories with TB's of volume data and is accessed by users 24x7.

The repository data is critical to their business, so any option with minimum downtime would be their preference.

Question: Is there a Laserfiche Utility for migrating data from Oracle database to SQL Server? If no, what other options are available to migrate Laserfiche data from Oracle database to SQL Server?

Thank you in advance.

There's an official utility for it now. Use that.

I also updated that EoL post with a link to the utility.

I don't think there is a way you can avoid downtime with this, but you in the Laserfiche Announcement about Laserfiche Oracle Support End-of-Life they mention a few different paths to take to move Laserfiche off of an Oracle backend to MSSQL.
