Question

I Need to link to a Laserfiche document from a Laserfiche Mobile Form

asked on March 16, 2023

I have a Chemical Application Form.  It is going to be used by our Public Works Department to track usage etc.

Once the chemical is selected I want to have a link available that will open the safety information document (stored in LF), so the applicator can have access to all the safety information.

I don't seem to be able to link to a repository document from within a form being accessed using Laserfiche Mobile.  I have been through many posts, and it seems there is not a solution?

Can you help?  Is there a solution?  I can navigate in Laserfiche Mobile, to the Repository and to the particular document, but am not able to access the doc via a link in the form.

Thanks for listening, this has been intense (trying to figure this out).

It looks like this has been on the wish list for at least 5 or 6 years.  Can it be done now?

The only way that I can think of to do this is to keep a database table that has the links saved so that you can use a database lookup to fill a hidden URL field (which you would then reference using a visible HTML field that uses the URL field as the link target) in the form in real-time. If maintaining a separate database table just for this is too much work, you could alternatively use a workflow to generate the link after submission and then you could update the submitted form with that link or show a new form assigned to the submitter that also displays the link.

Thanks Kevin,
That was actually one of the things I tried earlier today.

Do you have a situation where this has worked for you with Laserfiche Mobile?

Thanks,

Christine

You should be able to use the same URL you would use for the web client, but replace https://  with "LFMobile://"

I did give this a try, but get:

Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found.

Thanks for being willing to help.
