Maybe I'm not entering the right search terms to find examples but I have a very specific working situation I'm trying to transfer to a digital form format.
I work for an aviation company and in our flight school what happens currently is a series of paper forms are put in a folder and handed to each student to carry through their training period (chick could be several weeks). Some forms are fairly short but some can have up to 75 or so distinct line items to be filled out and signed off on. There are a varying number of training pilots on staff at a given time, up to 6 at present and from one day to the next it's never clear cut or assigned in advance who is going to do which bit of training for each student. It could even change day to day.
My idea was to build these forms so that they could be initiated by one of the training pilots or the administrative assistant listing basic info for a given student that would be locked for the rest of the process. This part is fairly simple the initiating form contains this info and is locked on following steps by using a second form with this part as display only. The next part would be editable by a group of users containing the training pilots It's this part that's causing me problems.
This step needs to be open to all training pilots so they can each open the initiated form, select which line items they have completed for that student and sign off on them. It also needs to lock these filled out fields for subsequent users so as to preserve signatures and data entered.
I built a process that will keep the form in a loop until it gets an indication that it has been fully completed, so far I just have that triggered by a button but ideally until all line items are filled in it should not be allowed.
If this sort of thing even possible in Laserfiche? any suggestions on how to make something like this work?
Thanks
