Install Laserfiche on Apple products (Using Parallels for emulation)

asked on December 12, 2022

First off:  Yes, this is unsupported.

We have a client (specifically one of the customer's internal IT team) that would like to install the desktop client on an M2 mac with Parallels. I'd like to work through the process, but I am limited to using an Intel/Windows machine.  If anyone in the community has experience doing this install and can share notes, I'd appreciate.

Thanks

Hello,
When you install windows on Mac using parallels or VMware it's as good as having an independent windows machine.

You just have to make sure that windows get an independent IP & not shared from Mac.

After that treat it as any other windows machine in-network.

Our customer had tried to do the install a couple times; failed initially, managed to get an install without errors, but was unable to access anything.  I'll see how they had networking configured - quite possibly NAT.

Thanks for the insight.

Interesting. Honestly not sure how much you can do without access to an Parallels environment to test installation. I'm not personally aware of anyone who has attempted this before (though I've heard good things about Parallels in general) so much of it is likely going to be trial and error.

Yeah, it's a bit of a tall ask to diagnose software and hardware you don't have access to.  The customer is understanding about it though, and I'd really like to help them out.
