Change Repository Named User Setting

asked on July 29, 2022 Show version history

When trying to change the Repository Named User to false, so we can cut back on repo users and use those licenses for AD users, it's greyed out (see pic).  What access am I missing so I'm able to make that change?  I've also tried the admin account, and it's happening for multiple repositories.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

There should be a "Repository Named Users" node at the server level where you can remove licenses.

Are you referring to the options in LFDS where you can change the amount of Repo Named Licenses?  Would like to be able to remove the license from the Repo User in the admin console before just wiping the licenses from that particular repo.  Would you mind to be more specific?  Thanks for your response!

I was referring to the Repository Named Users node in the Laserfiche Admin Console. You can remove licenses from repository users there.

After unassigning licenses, you can go into LFDS and remove them from the Laserfiche Server license to make them available for assignment in LFDS.

I think I'm following you now.  Go to admin console at server level, and change on the Repository Named Users node?

I guess I change from Full to Retrieval?  If so, have you seen this error before?  Thanks!

If i understand your scenario correctly, you want to remove them from there altogether to move the full licenses to LFDS and reassign them.

I apologize for the misunderstanding - I think we're on the same page now.  Once you delete a user from the Repository Named Users list, it changes the value for that user under the Repository Users to False.

Just ran through one and it worked.  Thanks so much for hanging with me on this.

Have a great day!
