Question

Error : Domain account not found, when add / modify Domain Accounts under Authentication

asked on April 1, 2022

Windows server 2016, LaserFiche 10.4

I have a named Repository Users with couple of domain accounts attached.

Everything was working fine before. It now gives error of "Domain Account Not Found" whenever I add or modify the domain accounts. I tried to use "Check Names", it found the users, but It prompts the error when I apply the changes.

I searched in the forum and could not find the solution.

Hi Curtis,

Check that the user the Laserfiche Server Service is running has, has enough rights in AD to perform the necessary actions, or try a different account to run the service as (don't forget to update SQL if you do change it).

I would think you're issue lies there, as doing the search in the admin console runs as the logged on user, but the application of the setting will run as the service user/account, I think.

Just a guess but worth a try! smiley

Cheers!

I used Windows Authentication (myself as in the Admin group) to login LaserFiche server to perform that action.

Did you mean I should check my windows account if I have enough rights in AD  ? or the LaserFiche Admin group ?

thanks

Hi Curtis,

No this is the actual windows service on the server, and what that account is running as, it's not related to who you login as.

Another consideration, if you're using Laserfiche Directory Server to control your licensing, ensure both domains are added as identity providers.

It might be best to go through your Laserfiche VAR for some assistance on troubleshooting this.

Cheers!

Recently the corporate changed the domain credential.

LaserFiche default setting for service log on account is using local system account.

I changed to use my account for logon for LaserFiche Authertication and LaserFiche Server  services, but does not work and still same error message.

what other services should I change the log on account ?

I got it solved.

It ended up the Named User profile got corrupted, not sure how and when.

I completely deleted the particular Named User and re-created it again with adding the same group of domain user IDs.

hope this will help if somebody has the same issue.
