Laserfiche Forms 10.4.x Upgrade to Laserfiche Forms 11.x

We are thinking of upgrading from Laserfiche Forms 10.4.x to the latest version of Laserfiche Forms 11.x. Are we going to run into any issues with the forms moving forward? Are the steps in the Process Diagram compatible along with the Forms and their stylings? Or will work need to be done on all the Forms if we upgrade? Are there any other concerns we need to think about before doing an upgrade?

I have a problem in 11 where every participant user loses their assigned license mutliple times per day when the system auto syncs with LFS. A bug report was filed, #343308 but it was fixed in a hotfix that was not compatible with another hotfix we already applied. For anyone using participant licenses I am waiting for an official build that includes all hotfixes.

Your forms should almost always work the same after an upgrade though, CSS and JS is rarely effected. Sometimes referencing a built in class name could break on rare occasion.

Thanks all, we ended up performing the upgrade with some hiccups. But our forms do appear to work normally from a small amount of testing. Thanks all for the answers.

We upgraded from 10.3 all the way up to 11, and for the most part haven't had any issues with Forms.  The process diagram tasks and forms layouts/coding all seem to work fine.  The only issue we have had deals with the syncing of Participant Licenses.  In our case, the overnight sync we have with AD always works, no problem...the issue is that most days we have someone who needs a participant license granted to complete an approval or form that requires a login, and we used to always click the 'Synchronize Users' button in Forms to do it right away and it always worked after we added the user to LFDS.  Now it works most of the time, but not all the time....it will not always find the new licenses just given in LFDS and Active Directory Users and Computers app.  In these cases I have to restart the Laserfiche Directory Service anywhere from 1 to 3 times before it will sync from Forms with that button.  Haven't been able to figure this out yet.

Hi Rick,

Did you find out what was causing your issue?  We've recently upgraded to 11 and are experiencing a similar issue.

Sorry to say Shawna, we haven't gotten it figured out yet...it seems to be random, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, even during the same day.  I can usually get it to work after restarting the Directory Server Service....sometimes I don't have to do that at all, sometimes I do it once, and sometimes I do it 3 or 4 times and give up and wait until the nightly full sync on the server to have it pick it up.
