Question

Are community users licenses concurrent?

asked on November 9, 2021

Hello,

I have a question on how the community users licenses works, are these concurrent?

i.e. if we have 100 licenses, we can have up to 100 users submit a form at any given time? if not, how does it works?

Thank you,

Hi Andrea,

Thanks for reaching out here on Answers. Community User licenses are a type of Named User license, which means they are individually assigned to users in Laserfiche Directory Server. They are not concurrent licenses.

You can find documentation related to assigning and managing these licenses here:

https://doc.laserfiche.com/laserfiche.documentation/11/administration/en-us/Default.htm#../Subsystems/LFDS/Content/Managing-Users.htm

Hope that helps.

Best,
Sam

Thank you for your reply Samuel.

If I am understanding correctly, a Community User can authenticated and participate in a process on Laserfiche Forms, correct?

Is there any type of license that will allow to participate in a process anonymously?

Will the Forms Public Portal allow anyone from the public to submit form? or does this requires a user type of licence?

I am trying to understand this to be able to recommend which type of licence we should get.

Thanks,

Correct, a Community User can authenticate and participate in a Laserfiche Forms process. They can also have Read-Only repository access.

A Forms Portal license is applied to the Forms application itself. It allows you to set specific processes as "Public". When a Forms process is Public, it allows anyone to anonymously submit the starting form without needing a user license.
