Can the 'root' organization be renamed?

Just curious if there is a way to rename the root organization. I have 2 sub organizations and MANY users in the root. 

 

An alternative question is: what is the fastest way to move a large quantity of users into a new organization? I noticed I cannot add groups to an organization. 

 

Sorry for the noob question, first time using organizations...

Hi Chris,

You cannot rename the Root organization. If you're using Active Directory group synchronization to add users into LFDS, you can change the organization used by your sync rules and initiate a sync to move those users over. Otherwise you can multi-select 100 users at a time from the users page and change their organization all at once that way.

If you have many thousands of users and cannot use AD group sync, it may be a better strategy to use the Laserfiche SDK to move the users over with a custom script.
