Question

Laserfiche Forms Upload Restrictions

asked on October 20, 2021

Hello,

As you already know, Laserfiche forms upload has a limitation of 250 MB. Our customer needs to upload files up to 2 GB using Forms, is there any way to increase the size limit or maybe a workaround to achieve this?

Thanks.

Currently, there is no workaround, but we are looking into make this file limit configurable by system administrators so you can adjust base on your business needs and we recommend to use the file system volume to store the attachments if you want to set the limit to above 2 GB.

Just curious if this was added to a future feature list. I also have a client looking for 2 GB file size max.

We will add support to allow system admin to configure the file upload size limit at server level in the coming release(target to release early next year) with which you can increase the file size limit.

The max file size allowed to upload is now configurable with Forms 11 Update 2(https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1014352/list-of-changes-for-laserfiche-forms-11-update-2), you can change it to up to 2047 MB from Forms Configuration site.

Will the people uploading the documents have licenses?

They are using forms portal license, so no named users.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to increase this limit, as there are other variables involved beyond the application itself (Forms). See the below LF Answers post for reference:

However, the limit isn't 250MB per Form submission, just per file uploaded. You can upload multiple files to a Form totaling over 2GB of attached files, as long as each individual file is less than 250MB (not sure if this helps).

The problem is that each file is up to 2 GB.

Out of curiosity, what type of documents are these? Are they video files, just really large image files, or something else?

They are mostly media files.
