Question

Adobe Sign and Docusign Use

asked on September 29, 2021

Our office is looking at eSign options for Laserfiche to use in a contract management system.  We haven't used either product and wanted to get input from those of you that have.  If you have used either product, are you satisfied with the performance?  If you have used both, which did you prefer and why?  How did licensing work for the product(s) you used?  Did you only have to license the Workflow service account with your eSign solution, or did each user require a Docusign or Adobe Sign license in addition to their Laserfiche license?  Any information will be appreciated.

Hi Tracey

The LF DocuSign integration connects to the Webservice via a DocuSign Account API ID,  and requires a valid DS Account, which is configured in the Web Administration General Tab.

Each User(sender) in Laserfiche must also have a DocuSign Account. They add their credentials under their options menu in the advanced tab of the Web Client.

The User Credentials will determine what templates they can choose from when requesting to sign a document. The templates must be created in DS in advance as the user cannot configure this on the fly as you might when logged into DS directly.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for responding.  So, does that mean that everyone who signs the document will require a DocuSign license?

Thanks,

Tracey

The signer does not require a DS license/account, but the sender does.
