Question

Format Date in Name in Laserfiche Snapshot

asked on August 6, 2021

I am adding a document to Laserfiche using Laserfiche Snapshot.  I want to put the current month in the name using the Date field.  I try this...

I want to do it this way instead of manually typing the date every time because I am saving these settings as a Profile.

When I send the document to Laserfiche it looks like this...

What I want it to read is ... "Device Report - 202108".

What am I doing wrong?

Your Date Formatting is YYYYDD and that does not contain the Month

You can use

Well that was an ID10t error on my part...but it didn't solve my problem.  It still does not resolve the variable...when I fixed it to use the month I get...

Try

%(Date#"yyyyMM"#)

I see what you mean.  Snapshot is not resolving the token if you apply formatting.  May be a limitation of Snapshot.

Possibly, but it seems weird that it allows you to choose the tokens from the arrow button on the right of the Name if it is not going to resolve them.

I just did a quick test.  It works if I just use the Date token without any formatting.

This resolved the date...

But adding the format to the Date token does not, unless I am specifying the format incorrectly.
