Feature Request - Forms Team Link to AD Group

asked on April 9, 2021

Hi All,

Within the Laserfiche repository you can link a repository group to an AD group and control the group membership in AD, the majority of our customers are setup this way for ease of implementation as other systems also utlise the same AD groups.

What doesn't seem to be possible at the moment is the ability to link a forms 'team' with an AD group. So as part of the user on-boarding/off-boarding you need to remember to add them to the relevant forms team as well as AD. If you could link the forms team to an AD group then it's just one place to add the user as part of user setup, and the group membership would be respected throughout the LF suite.

I don't think this is currently possible, or I certainly can't see a way to do it. Please could I raise this as a feature request, as to me it seems logical?

Cheers!

This is not currently possible in Forms. It is unlikely that we'll implement directly linking AD groups to Forms teams. However, we will be investigating allowing LFDS groups in Forms teams and you can add AD groups to LFDS.

Thanks Jared, so that's kind of the same thing then, you'll add the AD group as an LFDS group, and the LFDS group will become the Team in forms.

Cheers!

I can add groups to my forms and that is working really well for me now that we have the LFDS set up (less than a year now).

The only thing is, I can add the office group, but if I want only one person to be business manager, I still have to add them separately and have to remember what forms anyone is added to separately for that when staff changes happen.  Those still have to be changed manually.

Yes, that works. This post was about adding them to Teams for task assignment.

@Jared, I'm curious how you would answer the original question, given the functionality released in Laserfiche Forms 11 update 2?
