Laserfiche Server Service Stops - Laserfiche Audit Service Errors every 5 min

asked on March 29, 2021

I keep getting Audit Service Errors and my LF Server Service stops every few hours.

If I change my license file I can only 2 users logged in.

The Audit Trail issue is just a side effect of your Laserfiche Server not being properly licensed (which causes it to stop every few hours).

There should be an error message in the Event Viewer under Applications and Services\Laserfiche\Content Repository indicating why the license is invalid.

I get this error

Unable to successfully verify the product license registration with the Laserfiche license or directory server. Error: The license is now stale.

But when I update the license to my new license file I can only have 2 users logged in at a time

Users get the - Sign in Failed because the number of sessions has reached the licensed limit error

Are you running in a workgroup setup or is this Laserfiche Server in the DMZ? The error says the LF Server couldn't contact the Directory Server to validate its license. So it will go into a grace period, then turn off.

I'm not sure what you mean by "when I update the license", but that behavior is actually indicating that the license is not ok. When LFS is unlicensed (for whatever reason - can't contact LFDS, license expired, missing, etc), it will only allow 2 connections from users with Manage Trustees privileges.

You should be able to check the license type in the LF Admin Console. If you click on the server name node, the right pane will indicate what the license type is. Since you're using a master license, you should either see Rio or Avante as the edition. Anything else is an indication the license is either expired/stale or for the wrong product.
