Snapshot & Web Client Support

Hi All,

 

I've just had a chat with another client who is moving their LF into a private cloud, and is only accessible through a web URL.

 

The office integration is ok, as I can add the endpoint here:-

But snapshot doesn't seem to support web only deployments, it's expecting to be able to see the server.

Has this already been raised as a feature request, and if so, are there any updates on when this will likely be supported?

Hi Chris,

This has been raised as a feature request and we're partially addressing it in Laserfiche 11. Windows Client, Snapshot, and the Office Integration are getting a unified authentication experience that supports web-based logins/SSO through Laserfiche Directory Server. It doesn't include a Web Client endpoint for Snapshot like the Office Integration has. Client Suite Feature #240559.

For this customer, one option available is using a reverse proxy (TCP or HTTP) to provide a web endpoint that passes traffic to Laserfiche Server. E.g. "lfs.company.com". You can then enter the DNS hostname for the proxy in Snapshot.

Thanks Samuel for the clarification. Hopefully this can be a feature in the not too distant future.
