Uploading Documents from LF to Websites and other Online Document Portals

asked on September 9, 2020

Hello,

Is there a way to upload documents directly from LF (i.e. drag and drop from LF) into a website that's asking to upload an attachment? Currently it only seems possible to save the file locally on the machine, then to upload it to the website with no direct way from Laserfiche. This is a popular request so I wanted to see if it's been made possible yet.

A feature like this would be beneficial as users could upload documents to these other portals without needing to save anything locally. With LF being a document management system, it'd be ideal that users can upload directly from LF to other sites if needed, as the documents are already all in one place and would ease/secure the process (especially if the documents are of high importance/security and shouldn't be saved locally on a user's machine).

We found a couple of similar threads, but none seem to have a way of doing this (granted they're a couple years back).

As mentioned in the article above, WebDAV does seem very limited for this purpose.

Thanks,

Bryan

Has this feature been developed?  In the roadmap?

This isn't really doable with current web technologies. All of the data needs to be made available to the other application at the time of the drop event, but the browser doesn't have it.
