Question

Question

Form that can be continuously updated by multiple staff

asked on June 11, 2020

Hello

I have been tasked with determining a way to track bylaws.  This would include assign the next bylaw number when requested by a user, update the spreadsheet with readings and resolutions.

I would to create a form that staff can do two things

- provide staff with the next number in a sequence 2020-022

- update information in the form as the bylaw passes through the process from first reading to being approved by council

-multiple staff members updating the form

if a form won't work can an excel spreadsheet be embedded into a form that would fulfill the same function

That's a bit out of the scope of Forms. You could create a super complex form + SQL table that pulls all the information and allows them to edit anything and then submit it and push it back, but it would only save one person's data in the case of multiple editors at the same time.

A better solution, however, would be to use an Excel sheet in the repository and then use Office 365's online collaboration. More information here.
