Question

Can the unattended install method for Windows Client be used to upgrade?

asked on December 5, 2019

We attempted to run an unattended install for the Windows Client 10.4.1 on a workstation that currently is running Windows Client 10.3.1 and it did not run.  This is the log file that was created:

[PID: 18284] 10:48:01.412  Beginning main install.
[PID: 18284] 10:48:02.432  Main install failed. Canceling setup.

Can we not perform client upgrades with the unattended install method?  Are we missing a parameter?

We figured it out - the user had the client opened when we were attempting to update, that's why it failed.

Unattended does work to upgrade.
