Adding 32-bit Snapshot Driver to 64-bit Server install - ??

asked on July 24, 2019

Trying to add a Shared Snapshot printer driver to a 64-bit Windows 2012 R2 Server so 32-bit workstations can have access.  The workstations will be VM.
Right-click on Snapshot printer properties, then the Sharing tab brings up the dialog showing where to click on "Additional Drivers".

Here's the next dialog box after putting a check mark in the x86 processor and clicking OK:

Hitting Browse, it looks for an INI file to load the driver.

QUESTION: Where do we find the INI driver for the Snapshot x86 ??

Thanks!

Hi Bruce,

Upon installation of Snapshot, the installer detects the architecture of the machine and installs only the corresponding printer driver; in a 64-bit architecture, the x84 driver is not installed, so it won't be available. If you install Snapshot as a shared printer on an x64 machine, then the workstations that use this shared printer must also be x64, as Snapshot cannot have different versions of the same driver installed. In this case, you can install Snapshot as a shared printer on a x86 machine for the users whose workstations are also x86.

A workaround for this could be that instead of doing a shared installation, you could install locally.
