Question

My weblink browse options

asked on June 17, 2019

In web link under My weblink / browse option users can select the metadata they would like to see. (Pic1). However, some of the metadata is only visible at the folder or content levels depending on template. Is there a way to only display metadata fields visible for that specific folder or content?  The browse options works great for the folder level (Pic2) however when you drill down to content level there is a lot of white space ((Pic3)  The user doesn’t realize they need to scroll over to see metadata.

Hi Alison,

The user attribute [SETTINGS]UniqueFolderColumns allows for users to have different column settings depending on what folder they're viewing.  You can log onto the web client Management page and set that to true for your user(s).

Then, the columns would need to be set up manually; there's currently no way to automatically show only the applicable fields. If your WL is set up to prompt for credentials, the columns for a user can be configured by logging on to the web client as that user and selecting the columns as desired.  If you have a user set to automatically log in, you can either do the same thing or you can log onto the web client as a different user, set the columns up, and then use the "Import Columns From User" functionality in the "Public User" tab of the Designer.
