Repository Move to new LF server

asked on May 28, 2019

HI, We are in a process of moving the Laserfiche repository to a new server. When I make a briefcase export, the number of files and the size do not match with the original folder.

I was told that the SYSADMIN account, do not have permission to some of the folders and it's subfolders, as at some point of time in past, when we break the folder permission inheritance, the SYSADMIN rights were removed.

What is the quickest way to implement the full permission to all the folders/subfolders/files within a folder, so that when I export a folder ( by creating a briefcase), all the files/folders are copied.

Can anyone help me please?

Thank you in advance.

I would use Web Client to Generate a Report for the top level entry in the tree you are trying to copy. Use Entry Effective Access Rights Report and add your SYSADMIN user and at least the browse and read rights you need to copy everything. That'll give you a report you can use to find the missing folders that don't have permissions and you can go add them without having to browse to every folder one at a time.

I do wish there was a similar check box like Windows had to overwrite all child permissions at any level. That seems like such a simple and useful feature to not have it is a pity.
