Question

Laserfiche 10.4 with LFDS 10.3

asked on April 25, 2019

We have recently upgraded our development environment from Rio 10.3.1 to 10.4 and have noticed that users are not being allowed access to the repository.  When they attempt to go to the repository they receive an error:  Access denied. [9013] Sign out of Laserfiche Directory Server.  If they click the link, it just refreshes the same error page.

Is this an expected incompatibility between LFS 10.4 and LFDS 10.3.0.110?

Do I need to upgrade LFDS to 10.4 to correct the errors and allow users to access the 10.4 environment?

What would the side effects be for my current Production LFS 10.3 servers if I upgrade LFDS to 10.4?

Thanks

I believe the Directory Server needs to be an equivalent or newer version than the application server.

From what I understand Laserfiche "backward compatibility" works top down for most components.

For example,

LFDS > LF Server > LF Client

So the 10.3 desktop client will work with 10.4 server, but not the other way around, and I imagine the same goes for the Server and LFDS.

We have been running LF Rio Server 10.4 with LFDS 10.3 since February.  We did need to update the LFDS Master License to be able to issue 10.4 licenses.
