Education Subscription License - Avante

Laserfiche Directory Server Licensing

Client recently purchased Education Subscription License for their Avante System. Their current version is 10.1. From what I read, to utilize any of the Subscription licenses, the Laserfiche Director Server [LFDS] is required. LFDS is available for Avante in 10.4.

  1. Does this mean that Client's entire Laserfiche System has to be updated to Laserfiche 10.4 to utilize LFDS?
  2. By installing only LFDS 10.4 and activating the Licenses. can we use that with Laserfiche server 10.1/10.2/10.3 Server System?

You will need to make sure your LF Server is on 10.1 Update 3 (or later).

There is a compatibility issue for authentication with older LFS and LFDS 10.2+.

Hi Karim,

1. No, the Laserfiche products in the Avante system can stay at their current version. You just need the LFDS 10.4 to better manage the licenses of the system with the Education users in it.

2. With LFDS, you can issue any version of license to the products in the system, up to the highest version that the products are entitled to.
